I rented the Sierra Hotel for a week road-trip from LA to San Francisco. The price for the van is the cheapest you will find in LA, and the van was in really good shape. The van was equipped with everything we needed (small kitchen, camper stove, full water tank). Pickup and drop off were easy as both were contactless and directions were easy to follow. Reserving was easy, and the staff were really flexible to last minute changes to the booking. For the staff of Lost Campers, the only recommendation I have would be to create an infographic or more clear step by steps for the process of booking the van. The directions were really text heavy, and we had no problems following them, but I think it would have made the experience better as I was really afraid the whole time we were going to miss something important.

We rented this van over a time period of 3,5 weeks. The booking, signing of the documents and pickup was very easy and fast. The campervan ran without any problems throughout our trip (about 3000 miles). Would recommend this small company to anyone in doubt 🙂

We rented a van named Matty Matt for 10 days and drove though California, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada to see some national parks. This van made the trip so much easier, to have your home with you as you travel was super convenient. It was more spacious than we expected and the bed was comfortable for the most part. The fridge and dual battery were very convenient and we had everything we needed for our trip which prevented us from having to buy stuff that we couldn't transport back with us as we flew into LA. The bedding smelled fresh and clean and there was ample storage. Here are some of the cons. The pillows were super thin and after a few days they really bothered my neck. Not sure if all the pillows are this way, but consider bringing a pillow you know is comfortable if you have neck problems like me. The fridge kept coming unplugged. This wasn't too much of an issue for the food we had because some of the places we stayed in were cold and we'd catch it before it got to warm in the cooler. The AC did work, but if we were sitting idle, it would not blow cold. It only seemed to blow cold as we were driving.Overall, I would definitely recommend Lost Campers and use it again if I ever go on a trip like this again. I also appreciate how they worked with me with pickup as I had missed a flight and arrived hours later than expected and we had some difficulties figuring out how to sign all of the documents. Pick up and drop off after hours was easy.

Had an awesome experience thanks to Lost Campers! Rented the van for 14 days and traveled almost 4000 miles in over 7 different states and 8 national parks. The car is very spacious and the beds are way more comfy that what we expected so it was easy to sleep in it with a friend and still have enough personal space. Since the car looks just like a regular car it's really easy to park up anywhere and camp there.Lots of storage space under the bed compartment for canned food etc. The water jerrycans can easily be removed so it makes the changing of water really accessible as well. For such a budget-friendly camper van we also really appreciated the included chairs, tables, gas stove and tableware. The car is a bit old so you might need additional stuff like a jack cable to plug in some music (the cable sometimes need adjusting to avoid getting disconnected) and adapters to charge phones in the lighter plug but the car ran very well and was more than enough for a roadtrip. The staff was also super friendly and helpful when we needed anything! Thank you again for everything and looking forward to travel with your camper vans again!

Great experience! My wife and I made a 3700 mile roadtrip through CA, UT, AZ, NV, in 25 days, starting in SF, and visited about 10 National Parks. The campervan had only minor problems (connection of cooler wasn´t always OK, and some small issues that had to do with our pour knowledge of US cars). Lost Campers helped us all right. The campervan is a bit old and a bit thursty, but in our opinion still very good. We bought some additional campingstuff (Walmart) and a small tent ($30). Most nights we slept in this tent, using the perfect bedding from the van. We recommend Lost Campers!

I usually don't write reviews but this is a great place to rent from. Highly recommend the version with the cooler, has to be topped up with ice every one in a while but works well.No issues with the vehicle itself, they are well maintained despite their battle scars.I personally wouldn't rent the dodge caravan version if you are more than 2 people as it will be pretty tight, but your mileage may vary.

Solo female traveler - couldn't have asked for a better experience. Yes it's budget but it's functional, drives well and the essentials were all there for a comfortable trip. It worked perfectly because it really doesn't look like a camper so I felt super safe to park up anywhere. Wonderful fast communication with the office too and clear instructions. Definitely will use again when I come back to the states. Thank you!

I can definitely recommend Lost Campers for your Trip! We had a super pleasant experience with the team, their service was just lovely! The camper itself was also great too, we felt safe doing thousands of miles with the car, and the bed was super cozy. We had an all-round great time, and if we ever do a trip with a camper again we will definitely go back to Lost Campers!

definitely recommend this one! everything went smoothly and all of the guys were so friendly! even after we had some problems with our first car, they directly switched cars and we got another one which was even better! the service was super nice and we had one of the best months of our lifes in that lovely van. If we ever come back to LA, its already clear to rent there again. Also the spontaneous shuttle to the airport was the icing on the cake and proved once again how good this company and people are! 🙂

Thank you Lost Campers, we had the perfect vacation! We flew from Indiana to the Los Angeles Airport, took a very short Uber to Lost Campers to pick up our van and then drove down the scenic Coast Hwy to the San Clemente State Beach campgrounds to car camp. We stopped at Trader Joes and picked up fresh stir fry veggies along with a stir fry shrimp package, hot cocoa, and other food items for easy delicious meals. The van was equipped with everything else we needed. I was so happy to find a marshmallow skewer to use to toast my bread for avocado toast. The campgrounds were clean and safe. Don't miss this opportunity to visit America's most beautiful beaches with the luxury of a thoughtfully prepared van to travel in, sleep in, and an outdoor kitchen to cook with. I rented a surf board from Stewarts Surfboards for $25 and a wetsuit for $10 for half a day. What a deal!!Nick quickly answered my emails with every question I had. We will definitely be back. Thank you again!

We had a great experience with Lost Campers. The van was clean, with no mechanical issues. The bed and bedding were warm and comfortable. It came with the basics of we needed for a week of cooking at the campground. After booking, I had to reach out to change our days/times and they were very easy to work with and replied promptly. It is a great value for a great price! I hope to rent from Lost Campers again!
A very good option for the rental of unassuming confy little van. Bella, dodge caravan, was our car for 10 weeks and it was no new and flashy, but functional and comfortable. We took extra sleeping bags and it was plenty warm during the winter. Sink, stove and the table with some dishes and cutlery was a nice addition. For minimalistic two people it was a week balanced option. Good communication with the company, would recommend and will probably use in the future as well!

I cannot say enough good things about this company and the people who run it! We picked up our van, "Beefy", from the San Fransisco location and headed south. I saw some of the most beautiful night skies of my life in the rooftop tent and cooked breakfast next to the sea. After 9 days of traveling, we had to drop the van off the night before a 7am flight out of LAX so we opted to just crash at the airport instead of a rushed chaotic morning. Right as we were about to leave the Lost Campers facility, the owner himself happened to arrive and offered us a ride to the airport. At this point, it was late in the evening and an Uber was going to be hard to get and expensive. We had a lovely chat in the 25 minutes it took to get us to departures. I saw him and the life he described as just lovely. I trust anyone who shares of themselves freely, so thank you for your generosity of time and of spirit.

We rented a campervan for 5 days. Had a great time! I had a lot of questions for the staff and they were always very prompt with their replies. The van had all of the basic things we needed to camp. The bed was comfortable! I would recommend this company! The experience inspired me to want a minivan camper of my own!

Vielen Dank.

Lost Campers was perfect! When I made the reservation, I was a little skeptical about whether it'd work out. But I'm really glad I went with these guys instead of traditional car rental. Yes, their cars have more miles, more dings, and more years on them than traditional car rental (at least ours did), but the vans have all you need for basic car camping and you can't beat the price. The self-serve pickup and dropoff was very convenient and gave us additional flexibility. I was a little worried I might get charged for pre-existing body damage to the car or other post-rental fees, but that never happened. This trip was a college graduation gift to my budding ecologist daughter, we drove from Inglewood/LA to southern California and put in a lot of hiking miles at several parks/preserves. Instead of doing a lot pre-planning about where to stay, we instead kind of just rolled with it. After long days, it was really nice to not have to not have to search for where to stay and instead just sleep in the van.I sold my daughter on Lost Campers rental model. She said she'd definitely do it again. (I also taught her it's best to just sleep in the airport [LAX] when you've got an early flight instead of messing with a hotel and early morning transportation.)

I had wanted to try van life for quite some time, and renting a Sierra van from Lost Campers Los Angeles helped me do that! The van had everything I needed for a solo trip, and the bed was so comfortable. The van had higher mileage, but I quickly realized that their equipment is well maintained. Staff was friendly, and their location is close to LAX. Highly recommended!

We rented a Sierra van for 7 weeks and had an awesome time! The van was a great way to travel through the USA.As the van does not look like an RV you can camp incognito in more urban area’s. On the other hand for campgrounds, the van comes with basic camping gear so we were able to camp comfortably. We had one issue with the stove, but Lost campers helped us out swiftly. Their communication is excellent. What liked most about the van is the great mattress and the sink with water pump.

We had a wonderful experience with Lost Campers! Clear and honest communication with prompt response to our mails. We appreciated the vehicle discretion, the confortable mattress and the easy kitchen set up. We rented a Campervan for 25 days through San Francisco, Road 1, Los Angeles and National Parks without thinking of the rising Miles. We would definitely recommend them to anyone and will choose them for our future adventures (because adventure never ends).

My partner and I have recently come back from a 3.5 week Road Trip of the USA.We couldn't afford most other van companies as for this long, prices were sky high and most rental companies didn't have a "unlimited mileage" option, which was crucial as we ended up hitting the 6,000 mile mark.I have seen a lot of mixed reviews online for Lost Campers, strangely accusing them of creating fake reviews, so thought it was only fair to put my 2 pence in for real given the experience we had. From the very moment we booked Lost Campers, the correspondence I received from customer service was outstanding (and I should know, I manage a call centre). Everything I needed to know was clearly outlined, every request/ back and fourth about ID, deposits, payments etc was fantastic. We had a long flight to LAX where we were due to pick up the van, and whilst we were standing in customs I discovered my husband hadn't filled in his secondary driver documents correctly, which in theory should have caused problems for us picking up the van. Nick was incredibly understanding, helpful and allowed us to collect regardless ensuring the documents were sorted upon our arrival to help the trip run smoothly. After a few documents were sorted, final payments were made etc, the keys were exchanged and the van was ours. Now, let's talk about the van. Firstly I think it's only fair to point out that this is a budget company, and if you're looking for basic luxuries, you're not going to find them here. The van was, however exactly as described, with all the things listed on the website (converter, cooking equipment, cooler box, bedding, mattress). The van we had was a dodge van which had been VERY BASICALLY modified to allow the seats to come down at the back to create a space for a mattress to go on top. All bedding, pillows etc were provided. There is no standing space in the van, the back is literally the mattress. In the instructions, it does show you how to fold the bed down to create a little table and chair situation, however it would require a lot of unnecessary fumbling and putting the bed up was enough. All of this aside, it was exactly how I expected it to be- the bed was surprisingly comfortable given the set up.As I mentioned before, we went on a 3.5 week road trip starting in California and hitting Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and back down to California. On this trip, we visited 7 National Parks, 2 State Parks 1 National Forest, 3 cities and countless hiking trails. The temperatures ranged from 105F- 46F, the terrain ranged from scorching deserts, flat planes, mountains and a mixture of sea-level and high altitudes. Through it all the van worked well, we had 0 breakdowns or issues with the running of it, the aircon worked perfectly and we were nothing short of proud of our little van for the mileage it achieved. We oiled the van twice, filled it up many times and still came under budget for our gas budget!Moving forward, if I were to do a trip of this magnitude again, I would probably have gone with one of the bigger vans or opted for the roof tent, however for shorter trips this van is ideal for the budget traveller. We had to use a mixture of public restrooms and the wilderness for all bathroom needs and purchased a camp shower for washing as this was something that wasn't (obviously) included in the van. However, with all this said I couldn't fault how upfront, true to description and reliable our van was, and if you're a simple traveller looking to see incredible things without the price tag- Lost Campers are your people!I'd like to also add that we had to give the van back slightly late due to traffic etc, and Nick again was nothing but accomodating understanding and did me and my new husband a real solid- he's incredible!Thank you Lost Campers- and particularly Nick.

Yall. This company. If I could give these guys 100 out of 5 starts I would every time. I've used this company 3 times and I have never once had a bad experience and this year's experience definitely knocked it out of the park.Leading up to my trip I worked with Chelise to make sure everything was lined up and she had the patience of a saint every time I needed to ask a question or tweak my reservation. There was never a problem she couldn't resolve and was super sweet about absolutely everything. When we went to pick up our van we were met with the sweetest man! I wish I had caught his name but he was very helpful, very kind, like everyone has always been. When we dropped our van off we met with the owner of the company who happened to be dropping by! He was so wonderful and positive!! When I thought we had left a bag in the van he was still there and waited for me to come back and get it and even brought me back to my hotel just out of the goodness of his heart! I cannot recommend this company enough. I will never rent from anyone else. The vans are comfy, clean, and convenient, and everyone you will work with is positively angelic. Thank you so much Lost Campers!!!!

I rented a Lost Campers Sierra Dodge Caravan for a solo trip to Burning Man festival. There was an extra fee and minimum rental period, but it was still very fair. I shopped around and others were charging way more, plus many had garish logos emblazoned all over their vans!Given the burning man fee, there were no big demands to have the van completely spotless when dropped off. Just vacuumed, with water tanks and cooler emptied. I did run it through a car wash twice - that dust just keeps coming out from everywhere! So very sympathetic to the extra fee.The van itself was great. Quite torquey for someone more used to driving VW campers in the UK! It had some good features, like cruise control and air conditioning. The bed was comfortable and kitchen well equipped. The sink and cool box were pretty handy! Plus a table and some chairs. My only minor gripe would be with the lack of Bluetooth, but just come prepared with a 3.5mm mini jack adapter. I was very kindly given an inverter for charging the phone! No shortage of information on the van’s features. I didn’t risk the awning since there were some big winds ripping through the playa at times, although that did look good.Communication from the company was amazing throughout. All the paperwork was completed digitally in advance. A contactless out of hours pickup and drop off was offered. However there was somebody in the office to assist with all that in the end.Huge props to Chelise for helping with all my questions before, and Nick for going over and above to assist with the pickup and drop-off.I would highly recommend this company to anyone considering hiring a van in the California area!
This is a review from a burning man trip we did with Lost Campers. In summary, I would highly recommend Lost Camper for a playa (and camping) trip. The vehicles are reasonably priced, good for burning man (we got many positive comments about our setup) and they don't make a big fuzz about people going to the playaPro:- Burning Man friendly, they charged a 500 USD burning man fee and require a 10 day minimum rental period. Compared to others those terms are quite fair and I compared quite a bit. No hidden fees or charges.- Vehicle is practically built, though not very large, you get the car AC (running on battery), a little kitchen with all essential utensils, gas stove (BYO gas), sink, outside sun shade setup, electric cooler (which we were able to run through the entire week whilst charging the double batteries regularly by running the engine every once in a while), regular power outlets in the back and a good bed for two. We had the Moab, it's tight though it was big enough for our luggage and we were able to put one folding bike in the back, it could probably fit two with some effort.- Very responsive and friendly folks working there- After hour return and pickup with no issues (all the paper work is done online) which is really perfect as we could pick up the van late in the evening and return it on a holiday, plus a very convenient pickup spot right in SFCons:- The van was rather old, so it didn't have USB ports for charging in the front or Bluetooth. Best to bring a car charger and an AUX adapter along if you want to listen to music or charge your devices while driving- Specific to our rental, the grey water tank hose was not attached to the grey water tank and we didn't notice right away. That made a bit of a mess, so best to check all that before you drive off.

Renting a car from this firm was very nice experience. They are very open, helpful and not afraid to answer clients' needs. I was not the easiest client, with number of changes I was doing unexpectedly with my reservation, but they managed will all of them. I do really reccomend this firm to all who wants to meet americans' hospitality.
